Crumble Magazine is Recruiting Now!

Crumble Magazine is expanding and we would love to have you on board!

Crumble is an inter-disciplinary architecture magazine, based out of ESALA at the University of Edinburgh. We aim to provide a platform for discussion around a wide-range of topics concerning the built environment that surrounds us. As a bi-annual magazine, these topics develop over the course of a semester into articles, illustrations, interviews, poems and stories, culminating in a 40-page, carefully considered publication. Our third issue, ‘Conflict/Resolution’, built on the sell-out success of our first two issues. We fully launched last month and are now selling the magazine online and in a large range of stockists across the UK.

As a result of the magazine’s growing success we are looking to expand our team! Diversity in approach is a key part of our magazine, and this is reflected by our current team, who have backgrounds in all sorts of departments across the university. As we look to grow the magazine further we would love to build on this and introduce students from even more subject areas.
We are looking to recruit new members to:

  • Our business and finance team, preferably with experience or an interest in this area, to help shape Crumble’s ongoing business model and strengthen our financial base.
  • Our digital media team, to support Crumble’s growing online presence and help us reach out to a greater community around the world through our website and social media channels.
  • Our team of resident illustrators, to help develop Crumble’s unique visual style and create graphic work to complement the magazine’s written content.

All of these roles offer the opportunity to be part of an exciting ongoing project which was awarded STACK ‘Student Magazine of the Year’ in 2017 and is distributed to prominent suppliers across the globe. The variety of vacancies available means that, whether your interests lie in architecture, economics, online media, illustration or elsewhere, you will have a chance to develop experience in a diverse range of sectors and contribute your skills to the operation of the magazine. You could also be part of a fun team of students engaged in sharing ideas and opinions on a subject area that is of relevance to us all in our everyday lives.

If you are interested in any of the advertised roles, please get in touch at or through our social media for more information and to arrange to come in for a chat in the weeks ahead!
Alternatively, if you are intrigued by Crumble but don’t think that joining the editorial team is for you, be sure to check out our website, get hold of a copy of our latest magazine, or follow us on social media for the latest updates on how you can be part of Crumble. We are always looking for new contributors with ideas for articles, creative writing, illustrations, or anything else and we’d love to hear from you!
